R380 pp Township TourEnd point: Around 13h00 or 18h00 at accommodation in Cape Town Cost: R380 per person The tour is not intrusive - guests are free to interact with the locals and discover the rich culture of township life. The tour begins at The District Six Museum (Monday to Saturday only) named after the vibrant sixth municipal district of Cape Town. Between 1901 and 1982 people were forcibly removed from District six to the informal settlements now known as the townships. The museum portrays the history of apartheid and its devastating effects. The tour continues into Langa and Khayelitsha where you meet township entrepreneurs and the children at the school/crèche and also have the chance to taste some homemade beer! Coming on a township tour with an open mind and telling others about the experience will help to achieve the goal of supporting social responsibility and reinvesting in these communities.
